How It Works
Family Box for Resilience
How to use your box
Five weeks. One small thing at a time. Here's the order that works best.
1. Start here — Read the parent instruction sheet
One page. Everything you need to know before you begin with what's in the box, how it works, and what the five weeks look like.
2. Each week — Pick up a conversation card
Start with a START card. A simple question to use in the car, at dinner, or anywhere you already are. Use as needed, find the one that matches the moment. Cards include START cards, STAY cards, RESET cards, and REFLECT cards.
3. Watch first — Start with Why the Box on the 7" screen, then watch each of the Weekly Overview videos on your start card. Turn on the touchscreen Teresa walks you through the whole system on the 7" screen. Start with Why the Box and the Weekly Overview. It takes a few minutes and tells you exactly how to use everything else.
4. Each week — Do a family mission
One mission card per week, A simple activity the whole family does together. Parent or child can start it. Takes about 10 minutes.
5. When things get hard — Reach for the reset cards
When a conversation goes sideways or before a hard moment use a When This Happens card. The mini video brochure gives your child instant access to Ms. Kayla's tools anytime.
6. Use as Needed — Put up a door hanger
Hang one on your child's door. No conversation needed.
7. At weeks 1, 3, and 5 — Complete your progress survey
Three quick check-ins over the five weeks — you'll see exactly what's changing.
8. Lastly — Give to Your Teen After the Adult in the House Reviews Teen video brochure, earbuds, and sticky notes.
No pressure. Pick up any card whenever the moment feels right.
The earbuds in the box are for your child to listen to Ms. Kayla's videos privately.
